More about half-time

Who gets to play at half-time and how many tickets will we receive?

Auskickers are selected from the state/territory where the games are being held. The venue managers of the stadiums hosting the games will get in touch with your centre coordinator to give them all the details you’ll need about tickets, times and more. At a minimum, all Auskickers selected plus one parent or guardian get a free ticket to the game.

It’s important to remember though that due to the large number of registered Auskickers, not everyone will get to play half-time every season. We recommend checking in with your centre coordinator or Regional AFL staff member for more information.

My child played at half-time, can I get any photos or videos of them?

We don’t take photos of kids playing at half-time, and their games aren’t filmed - the images that are shown on TV are owned by the station that is showing the game. We’d recommend getting in touch with the TV station that showed the game and asking them for a copy.

How do you decide who gets to play on Grand Final Day and present medals to the winning Grand Final team?

The NAB AFL Auskicker of the Year competition calls for registered and truly awesome participants of the Auskick program to enter for the chance to become one of the weekly nominees. Weekly nominees are announced during the Seven Network’s Friday night match broadcast. These nominees then have the seriously amazing, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to play half-tiime AND present an AFL premiership player with their medal on Toyota AFL Grand Final Day! Here’s where you can enter your Auskicker in the competition.
