Ainslie Tricolours are the last remaining undefeated First Grade Men’s team after their win over Tuggeranong, and Queanbeyan kept their run going in the First Grade Women.

There were plenty more highlights and wins over the weekend, so let’s get into all the action!

WR Engineering First Grade Women

Tuggeranong hosted Ainslie down at Greenway, looking to bounce back from a tough run of games. It was the Tricolours however who jumped out of the blocks, courtesy of young gun Georgia Patterson who dominated the game in her second game for the year. Ainslie held a 17-point lead at the first break, and hit the scoreboard early in the second, before Bailey Weinman kicked Tuggeranong’s only major for the day. Ainslie held a 25-point lead at halftime and went on to hold the Valley scoreless in the second half and boot another six goals themselves to finish the day as 64-point winners. The final score was Ainslie 10.10.70 defeated Tuggeranong 1.0.6. Ainslie’s best were Kate Patton, Katrina Brine, Anne-Maree Ghirardello, Imogen Badham, Ava Brassil and Jade Miller. Tuggeranong’s best were Jamie Clayden, Claudia Williver, Sophie Woodbridge, Shannon Brown, Emily Cooper and Emily Bell.

Queanbeyan hosted Batemans Bay at Patches Asphalt Park in an all-NSW battle. The Tigers, unbeaten in 2026 so far, were celebrating the 50th game of player Emma Dunn. The Tigers held a 42-point lead at halftime, after an inaccurate second term where they kicked seven behinds and two goals. The Seahawks slotted two majors in the third quarter to the Tigers four, continuing to fight out the game against the competition leaders. Queanbeyan sealed the game in the last quarter and pushed the final margin out to 81 points. Milestone player Emma Dunn kicked three goals, Jesse Goldski kicked four, and Ariella Paterson also kicked three majors. The final score was Queanbeyan 14.12.96 defeated Batemans Bay 2.3.15. Queanbeyan’s best were Emma Dunn, Ariella Paterson, Jayde Hamilton, Jesse Goldski, Kallie Gumm and Charlee McPherson. Batemans Bay’s best were Finn Bailie, Brodie White, Amy White, Zara Neil and Claire Callaghan.

In what was the match of the round in the Women’s competition, Belconnen hosted Eastlake out at the SFL Nest. Eastlake led the way in the first term, holding a slender 5-point lead over the Magpies, who overturned the margin in the second term and held the Demons scoreless to lead by 9-points at the main break. The Demons fought their way back into the game in the third, reducing the margin to just 1-point. The Magpies pushed their lead out to 8-points in the final term, Eastlake kicking a goal late in the quarter that proved too little too late, Belconnen finishing the day as 2-point winners in a tough contest. The final score was Belconnen 6.5.41 defeated Queanbeyan 6.3.39. Belconnen’s best were Adol Abuoui, Amber Allen, Hannah Williams, Thea O’Donnell, Tulli Hansen and Eliza Matthews. Eastlake’s best were Elizabeth Gower, Maddie Convery, Emily Honeyman, Kya Reagan, Ryeli Fleming and Emily Ryan. 

WR Engineering First Grade Men

The final two unbeaten teams in the Men’s competition met as Tuggeranong hosted Ainslie out at Greenway Oval. The two teams traded goals throughout the first term, but it was the Valley who led by 5-points at the break. Tuggeranong pushed their lead out to as much as 17-points in the second term, before Ainslie kicked back to reduce their lead to 2-points at the main break. The Tricolours shot out of the blocks in the third term, slotting four majors in the quarter and holding the Valley goalless to lead by 24-points at the final break. The final quarter was much the same, the Tricolours sealing the win with another eight goals to the Valley’s one, finishing the day as 65-point winners. Mackenzie Carman kicked five goals, and Jack Powell kicked 4 goals for Ainslie. The final score was Ainslie 19.9.123 defeated Tuggeranong 9.4.58. Ainslie’s best were Matt McGrory, Luke Crocker, Joe Bishop, Mackenzie Carman, Joel Dunstall and Jack Firns. Tuggeranong’s best were Blake Walker, Riley Budd, Jack Sanson, Ash McLean, James McCabe and Noah Budd.

Batemans Bay travelled up to Patches Asphalt Park to take on Queanbeyan for the first time. Queanbeyan had an inaccurate start to the match with four goals and eight behinds in the first quarter to lead by 19-points. The Tigers had a strong second term, kicking six goals and five behinds to extend their lead to 60-points. The third quarter was a strong one for the Seahawks, booting five majors to reduce the margin to 36 at the final break. Queanbeyan were able to skip away however, with another six-goal term to seal the win by 64-points. Alessandro Sergi led the way for the Tigers with four goals, and Ryan Moore joined in with three goals. The final score was Queanbeyan 17.20.122 defeated Batemans Bay 9.4.58. Queanbeyan’s best were Caden Spinks, Lachlan Mertz, John Brennan, Bailee Gilbert, Jayden Lehman and Ryan Moore. Batemans Bay’s best were Jarrod Thompson, Ryder Freyer, Buster Ware, Sam Martyn, Max Tiernan and James Collins.

Belconnen hosted Eastlake at the SFL Nest in what turned out to be a match that would go right down to the wire. Eastlake held a 6-point lead at the first break, with 6-points from behinds separating the two teams. The Magpies kicked five straight in the second to the Demon’s one goal, to lead by 15-points. Belconnen kept the pressure up and the game on their terms throughout the third quarter to lead by 16-points at the final change. The final quarter was another tense battle that led up to a final kick before the siren to draw the game for Eastlake which went through for a behind for the Magpies to take the win by 5-points. The inaccuracy from Eastlake proved to be the story of the day, slotting nine goals but nineteen behinds along the way. The final score was Belconnen 12.6.78 defeated Eastlake 9.19.73. Belconnen’s best were Blake Chapman, Ryan Turnbull, Hamish Saunders, Rohan Imhoff, Dom Bunyan and Elijah Witchalls. Eastlake’s best were Tim Parris, Angus Baker, Sam Thorne, Spencer Bassett, Oscar Davis and Shae Darcy.
