This unmissable event is designed for umpires of all levels- it’s your chance to feel inspired, motivated and limitless in your umpiring journey. Connecting with like- minded Women and Girls, you'll take part in a range of enjoyable and upskilling workshops, as well as interacting with a bunch of special guests- including AFLW umpires!
Women & Girls Umpire Liaisons
The Women & Girls Umpire Liaison Program was created to foster gender-balanced leadership and build inclusive, safe pathways for women in community umpiring. This program is not just about participation - it’s about transformation. It equips women with the confidence and capability to lead, support, and advocate for others in their umpiring communities.

Umpowered Coaching Conference
UMPowered is designed to identify and build the leadership skills of women & non-binary umpire coaches to start or continue their coaching journey. Its core mission is to:
- Increase visibility and representation of women and girls in umpire coaching roles
- Create a strong network of umpire coaches across Australia to serve as a point of connection and support.
- Develop the coaching philosophies of participants and confidence in practicing strength based leadership.
- Upskill participants with technical umpire coaching strategies and tools.
- Provide experiences that inspire and encourage participants to continue their umpire coaching careers.
The program will begin with a two-day Conference in Melbourne on the 28th and 29th March 2026, facilitated by Carol Fox and a number of AFL Umpiring experts. Learn more here.
National Women's Umpire Development Program
The National Women’s Umpiring Development Program (NWUDP) supports women and girls in umpiring as they make their way through their umpiring career, from community level football to the elite level.
This is formed by a smaller group of women and girls from each state who have applied to participate and opt into the program. It's focused on building capability in line with the Umpire Development Pathway.
