THERE’S MORE TO VOLUNTEERING

When you join a local club, you become part of a story.

A winner for wellbeing – feel fulfilled, and make a difference with flexible commitments based on your availability. You don’t need any experience, just a passion to find your more. We’re here to help you, help your club. There’s a role perfect for you – from a micro role with lesser responsibilities, to leading the path as President.

WHY VOLUNTEERS MATTER

Volunteers are the heartbeat of local football. Without them, clubs and leagues simply couldn’t operate. They play a vital role in every aspect of club life, from governance and management to partnerships, fundraising, community engagement, and safeguarding members.

We support you all year with helpful resources, club grants, learning modules, development opportunities, and events.

No matter how much time you have or the level of commitment you want to make, there’s a role for you.

WHAT’S AVAILABLE TO REGISTERED VOLUNTEERS

Registering as a volunteer and opting into receiving communications from us ensures your contribution is supported, recognised, and made easier, for you and for your club.

HOW TO REGISTER:

Are you new to volunteering or haven’t registered before, click here.

Are you an existing club volunteer looking to register with PlayHQ, click here.

Registered volunteers can be nominated for the Toyota AFL National Volunteer of the Year Awards, including prizes such as a brand new Toyota and money-can’t-buy AFL Grand Final experiences.

Registration allows formal recognition of your contribution through years of service awards and acts of service certificates. Without registration, your impact can’t be acknowledged beyond your club.

Registered volunteers gain access to partner offers, competitions, and giveaways available throughout the season.

Be the first to hear about grant opportunities and funding programs that can help your club grow and thrive.

The Telstra Footy Grants is designed to financially assist initiatives that can support Community Clubs.

We only contact you when it matters. Registered volunteers receive practical, timely resources such as recruitment tips, meeting templates, and season-ready guides to help you succeed in your role. We also keep you informed on state news, events, programs, and important announcements affecting volunteers and clubs.

PROTECT YOURSELF AND YOUR CLUB

By registering, volunteers are recognised as an official club volunteer, informed of AFL systems, policies and safeguards, and aligned with best-practice guidance around safety, conduct and wellbeing.
