Disability Inclusion
The AFL runs the Toyota AFL Open, a national event for footballers with an intellectual disability and wheelchair players.
AllPlay Footy is a joint initiative by Monash University and the AFL that provides parents, participants, coaches and volunteers with resources to ensure players with disability have the best experience playing our great game. All resources were developed in partnership with people who have lived experience of disability, consultants from National Sporting Organisations for People with Disability, psychologists and researchers.
The AFL, in partnership with Maple Community Services, is committed to making AFL accessible and inclusive for people with disability. Whether you’re already an avid fan of Australian Rules Football or just starting your journey, we’re here to help you navigate the NDIS and other available resources to support your sporting ambitions.

The NDIS can also provide support for people to participate in sports and recreational activities, making it easier for people with disabilities to lead active and fulfilling lives.
