AFL Queensland offers clubs access to experienced Coach Developers to support coach education and development at all levels – from junior to senior football.
Coach Developers provide flexible, tailored support, for all coaches delivered at your club at times that suit your needs.
The Coach Developer Program consists of a range of support options that clubs can select from to best suit their needs, including:
Preseason Coaches Meeting – covering coaching resources, activity design, coaching fundamentals, and positive game day behaviours
On-field Training Support – Coach Developers can attend training sessions to observe and provide real-time feedback
Support for the Club Coach Coordinator – assistance with their key responsibilities and coach development planning
Assistance with Coach Recruitment – helping clubs identify and appoint new coaches
Our trained Coach Developers work alongside club coaches to:
- Identify individual learning needs
- Support whole-club coach development
- Facilitate behaviour change and reflection
- Promote player-centred environments focused on development over winning
