Coach Developer Assistance for Coaches

AFL Queensland offers clubs access to experienced Coach Developers to support coach education and development at all levels – from junior to senior football.​

Coach Developers provide flexible, tailored support, for all coaches delivered at your club at times that suit your needs.​

The Coach Developer Program consists of a range of support options that clubs can select from to best suit their needs, including:​

Preseason Coaches Meeting – covering coaching resources, activity design, coaching fundamentals, and positive game day behaviours​

On-field Training Support – Coach Developers can attend training sessions to observe and provide real-time feedback​

Support for the Club Coach Coordinator – assistance with their key responsibilities and coach development planning​

Assistance with Coach Recruitment – helping clubs identify and appoint new coaches​

Our trained Coach Developers work alongside club coaches to:​

  • Identify individual learning needs​
  • Support whole-club coach development​
  • Facilitate behaviour change and reflection​
  • Promote player-centred environments focused on development over winning​
