Finals fever has hit Queensland, with 110 Australian Rules Grand Finals set to be hosted across the state over the next four weeks.

The Maccas South East Queensland Junior competition will launch finals festivities and in 2025 has expanded to four venues. Over three days, starting Friday 29 August, 98 teams will vie for premiership glory at Leyshon Park, Yeronga; Fankhauser Reserve, Southport; Everleigh Sports Park, Greenbank and Maroochydore Multi Sport Complex. This is the first time 2024 Ken Gannon Community Football Facility Award winner, Everleigh Sports Park, will host AFL Queensland Grand Finals.

Across the state, Cairns, Mackay, Capricornia and Wide Bay will also host their Youth Grand Finals on Saturday 30 August and Sunday 31 August.

It is estimated across this weekend in Queensland, 2,650 children will play in an Australian Rules Grand Final.

The following weekend, Brighton Homes Arena, home of the Brisbane Lions, will host the 2025 Bond University QAFLW Grand Final on Sunday September 7.

The 2025 TPIL Lawyers QAFL Grand Final venue will be announced in the coming weeks.

For those unable to attend a Grand Final in person, all games be live streamed on the AFL Queensland YouTube channel.

AFL Queensland Participation and Operations Manager Kieran Daley said the next six weeks will be a fantastic celebration of community football.

“Grand Finals are always the highlight of every footy season and there is always such a buzz around the grounds,” he said.

“The talent across our Queensland competitions and interest in the game in Queensland is at an all-time high.

“Whilst we anticipate large crowds to gather at the grounds, friends, family and fans who cannot make it will be able to watch all the action with every Grand Final in Queensland live streamed across the AFL Queensland YouTube channel.

“And in our premier competitions, the Bond University QAFLW and TPIL Lawyers QAFL, all finals games and the two Grand Final days will be broadcast with full commentary from our expert team.”

Head of AFL Queensland and International Trisha Squires congratulated everyone who participated in the 2025 season.

“Our great game only continues to grow in Queensland and expanding our Maccas South East Queensland Juniors Grand Final in 2025 to four venues over three days only highlights this,” she said.

“This growth would not be possible without the support of our passionate volunteers, coaches and officials.

“I thank everyone involved in bringing the 110 Grand Finals at venues across Queensland to life and congratulate all players participating, as well as our umpires who have earned a Grand Final Day selection.

“A huge thank you to our 2025 sponsors for supporting community footy including Maccas, TPIL Lawyers, Bond University, Alpha Sport, HART Sport, Bradnams Windows and Doors, Mackay Isuzu, Triple M, Allied, Toowoomba Toyota, RMS, KX Pilates, and Star 106.3.”
