Women & Girls Umpire Liaison Program

Help shape the future of umpiring across Queensland. Women & Girls Umpire Liaisons play a crucial role in creating safe, welcoming, and empowering environments for female and gender-diverse umpires.

In this role, liaisons:

- Provide on-the-ground support and guidance for new umpires
- Act as a visible and accessible point of connection within local umpiring groups
- Strengthen retention by building confidence, belonging, and community
- Champion W&G participation across their region

UMPowered Conference

UMPowered is Australia’s premier development experience for women and non-binary umpire coaches. Designed to inspire, connect, and elevate, this conference brings together umpire coaches from across the country to build capability, confidence, and community.

Participants will:

- Learn modern coaching techniques and practical tools
- Grow their leadership with guidance from national umpire coaching experts
- Build lifelong networks with like-minded leaders
- Experience the AFL inner-sanctum with exclusive access to Marvel Stadium on matchday and a behind-the-scenes tour of the ARC

Lead Your Way

Lead Your Way is a national leadership development program for women and gender-diverse people volunteering in community football. This program focuses on building confident, capable leaders who can influence positive change within their clubs, leagues, and umpiring groups.

Participants take part in a blended experience of:

- Online leadership workshops
- In-person development days
- Networking with leaders from across the country
- Practical tools to strengthen resilience, communication, and influence
