Community coaches from across the region recently came together for an AFL Coaching Masterclass, providing a valuable opportunity to connect, learn, and prepare for the upcoming season.
Delivered with support from AFL NSW/ACT, the session focused on practical coaching strategies that can be implemented immediately at club level. The masterclass was designed to support both new and experienced coaches, with a strong emphasis on building confidence, sharing ideas, and strengthening community football programs.
Throughout the session, coaches explored a range of key topics, including:
- Creating engaging and effective training sessions
- Supporting junior player development and progression
- Building positive team environments for players
- Practical coaching tips that translate to game day
Investing in coach education plays an important role in strengthening community football and ensuring players have the best possible experience at club level. Initiatives like this continue to support the broader pathway connected to the AFL, helping local clubs build strong foundations for the future.
Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to the session. The enthusiasm and commitment shown by local coaches highlights the important role they play in supporting players and growing the game within our community
