The spirit of the ANZACs will be commemorated across Queensland football ovals from Friday afternoon and throughout the weekend.
To recognise the importance of this day, AFL Queensland will be live streaming and commentating four premier SEQ games over two days, including each ground’s pre-match ANZAC ceremony, recognising the service of men and women to our country.
In their first year back in the TPIL Lawyers QAFL and Bond University QAFLW competitions, Coorparoo will host an ANZAC Day double header, with the club donning commemorative jumpers.
The women’s team takes on Bond University at 3:30pm, while the men’s team will meet Sherwood at 5:30pm at Giffin Park. Chris Yeend and Kane Browning will commentate this match.
At Leyshon Park, in the Bond University QAFLW, Yeronga South-Brisbane will host Maroochydore at 1pm on ANZAC Day, with the Devils wearing new commemorative guernseys. Daniel Viles and Hannah Davies will call this match.
On Saturday, in the TPIL Lawyers QAFL, Maroochydore will host Noosa in the Sunshine Coast derby, with Jack Barry and Reiley Guest commentating.
In the Bond University QAFLW, Aspley will host Southport, with Daniel Viles and Gold Coast SUNS AFLW star Jamie Stanton calling the action.
