The APM South East Queensland Inclusion league returns this Saturday for a second season and will expand to four teams, with Redcliffe joining the competition.
The four men’s teams, including Noosa, Carrara and Moorooka and now Redcliffe, will play in a seven round regular season at venues across Brisbane, the Gold Coast and Noosa. The inclusion league’s players are people over the age of 16 who identify with living with a disability.
APM, an international human services provider of employment, disability, health and aged care services will also return as the naming rights sponsor of the South East Queensland Inclusion League and the Queensland Inclusion state team.
AFL Queensland’s Participation and Programs Manager - Schools, Inclusion and Diversity, Jeff Neumann thanked APM for their support of the league.
“We can’t wait to see our players return to the field this Saturday and are thrilled APM are supporting the growth of the inclusion league in Queensland,” he said.
“Last year’s competition was a great display of skill, competitiveness and teamwork and we look forward to seeing our players in action again this Saturday.
“This year we will also have new offerings including AFL Nines – Inclusion and new targeted female match day opportunities, which we roll out over the coming months.”
Group CEO Michael Anghie said APM was pleased to continue its partnership.
“Inclusive sports play an important role in our community, providing opportunities for people with disability to thrive both mentally and physically,” he said.
“APM is proud to continue sponsoring the South East Queensland Inclusion League and State team, supporting men and women as they experience the many benefits of football. This league creates invaluable opportunities for participation, breaking down barriers and fostering a sense of community and belonging.
“We are excited by our partnership with the league and seeing all the players have fun, achieve their ambitions and get involved.”
