The Cazalys NT Talent Academy is excited to announce the selection of its third squad for 2025, featuring the Under 18 Female team.
After a standout 2024, the Under 18 Females are primed for another strong campaign. Their impressive 98-point victory over AFL Cairns in early May set the tone for the year.
Later that month, they travelled to Melbourne to compete in the Coates Talent League, where their opening match against the Western Jets showed great resilience despite a narrow 20-point loss. But the team quickly bounced back, delivering a thrilling 14-point win over the Murray Bushrangers, with standout performances from Danika McDonald, Kierra Zerafa, and Kalliopi Gikas. That victory was a highlight of their hard work and dedication, and one they’ll carry with them into 2025.
The 2025 squad boasts standout talent, including Bella Foster, the 2024 TIO Central Australian Football League (CAFL) Women’s Rising Star. Additionally, 15 players have been nominated for The NT News Rising Star in the Northern Territory Football League (NTFL). Palmerston Teammates Marika Carlton and Tatyana Perry, both former recipients of The NT News Rising Star award in their respective years, will again team up to form a dynamic and formidable duo on the field.
The squad kicks off its training on Wednesday, February 5, in preparation for the upcoming Coates Talent League matches, with matches scheduled from late May to early June. Excitingly, the Under 18 Females will also play their first home game in Darwin in mid-June with further details yet to be confirmed.
