The third week of the National Transfer Window has continued to bring about numerous signings across the QAFL and Bond University QAFLW.
Coorparoo’s stocks have continued to improve, signing Chloe Haines from Penguin in Tasmania to their QAFLW squad. Haines was a member of the Tasmanian State side who took on Queensland earlier this year, and was a pivotal part of Penguin’s premiership in the 2024 NWFL Womens league.
Morningside have announced the return of two past players, with Brock Aston and Jack Rolls re-joining the Panthers. Aston moved to Redland Victoria Point from Morningside in 2022 and went on to represent Queensland in 2023. He was listed by Southport in 2024, playing 13 VFL games and will make Morningside his QAFL aligned club for 2025.
Rolls, a Morningside junior made the move to Redlands to play NEAFL in 2017 and has played 86 matches of NEAFL/VFL/QAFL, including representing Queensland in 2023.
Noosa have named their second major signing, with Matt Gaul heading to Weyba Road in 2025. Gaul makes the move to Noosa on the back of an outstanding 2024, captaining Melbourne’s Maribyrnong Park to an EDFL Division 1 Premiership and being named captain of the EDFL Team of the Year.
Palm Beach Currumbin welcome two-time Geelong Football League Best and Fairest Harry Benson to Salk Oval in 2025. Benson played four VFL matches for Geelong across the 2023 season, and makes the move from St Mary’s where he played over 150 games.
Sherwood have picked up the 2024 QFA Division 1 HART Sport Cup Coaches MVP, with Connor Ashcroft signing at the Magpies for 2025. Ashcroft had a stellar 2024 season, which saw him lead the University of Queensland to their first Division 1 finals series in over a decade and finish second in the league Best and Fairest voting as well.
The Magpies have also announced James Creighton will align to the club in 2025, with the Queensland journeyman starting his junior football career at Coomera where he played over 100 games. Creighton was a member of the GWS VFL side in 2023/24, playing 27 games at VFL level at representing AFL Sydney in 2024.
Surfers Paradise have continued to bolster their depth, with Bond University duo Liam Viney and Oliver Burrows Cheng being announced as the Demons latest recruits.
Burrows Cheng makes the move back to QAFL level after two seasons with Bond University, and with 31 TSL and 24 QAFL senior games with Labrador under his belt, is a handy signing.
Viney has also been at the Bull Sharks for the past two seasons, originally hailing from Tasmania where he represented the Devils in the 2019 NAB League (now Coates League) and played senior representative football for the NWFL as well.
