New signings across the QAFL and Bond University QAFLW continue to roll in, with several clubs announcing their newest recruits.

Aspley has begun to announce their 2025 signings, with the addition of former St Kilda midfielder Leo Connolly. Connolly played seven games for the Saints in 2021 and has featured heavily for Sandringham and Casey in the VFL over the past couple of seasons.

The Hornets have also secured young local talent Charlie Hewitt, an 18-year-old gun having come through the pathway at Bribie Island then to Moreton Bay.  After a challenging, injury-ridden 2024 season, Hewitt will return to football at Graham Road next year.

Coorparoo continues to build its QAFL list with the signing of key defender Noah Opris, who is making the move to Queensland from Dandenong West.

Moreton Bay is steadily building momentum ahead of their introduction to the QAFLW in 2025, with the signing of former Cairns Saints star Tahlia Smith. Smith has won the prestigious Jo Butland Medal (AFL Cairns Women’s Best and Fairest), claimed three club Best and Fairest awards, and represented North Queensland in 2023.

The Lions have also welcomed back Jess Davy and Ellen Hopkins from Aspley and Maroochydore, respectively. Both players represented Queensland in 2024 and will return to their former club, adding valuable experience to the group.

Maroochydore has signed Aspley Hornets wingman Will O’Dwyer for 2025. The 22-year-old has 37 QAFL senior games under his belt and was part of Aspley’s 2023 QAFL premiership team.

Mt Gravatt continues to bolster their list with a mix of youth and experience. The Vultures have signed Cairns pair Max Hoffmann, the 2024 AFL Cairns Rising Star Award winner, and talented underage prospect Lachlan Lovell.

The club has also announced the return of 195cm multi-sport athlete Simi Vuniwaqalevu, who will add size and experience to their growing list.

Surfers Paradise has made their biggest off-season acquisition, announcing the signing of Cam Ellis-Yolmen. The former Brisbane Lion and Adelaide Crow is no stranger to the QAFL, having played for Labrador in 2022. Ellis-Yolmen returns to Queensland after spending two seasons at Wodonga in the Ovens and Murray League.
