AFL Northern Territory (AFLNT) and the Northern Territory Football League (NTFL) are proud to announce that the 2025/26 Nichols Medal Event presented by Cazalys Palmerston Club will be broadcast live across the Northern Territory and right across Australia via NT News and KommunityTV.
The broadcast marks an exciting extension of the existing streaming partnership that has delivered coverage of the TIO NTFL season, further strengthening the collaboration, and expanding the reach of Territory football’s biggest night.
For the first time, the Nichols Medal will be accessible to fans nationwide, ensuring players, families and supporters can share in the celebration wherever they are.
In further exciting news, the 2025/26 Nichols Medal Event, presented by Cazalys Palmerston Club, is officially sold out - underlining the significance of the event on the Territory sporting calendar.
Head of AFL Northern Territory, Sam Gibson, said the extended partnership reflects the growth of the competition and the appetite for Territory football content.
“Our partnership with NT News and KommunityTV throughout the TIO NTFL season has supported the continued growth and visibility of Territory football,” Gibson said.
“Extending that collaboration to include the Nichols Medal is a natural progression and an important step in elevating our game. It ensures our players and clubs receive the recognition they deserve, not just locally, but across Australia.”
“With the event now officially sold out, it’s fantastic that even more fans will be able to tune in and be part of this special night.”
NT News General Manager Kirsten Porteous said the expansion builds on a strong and successful season-long partnership.
“We’ve been proud to partner with AFLNT and NTFL throughout the TIO NTFL season, bringing live football coverage to audiences across the Territory,” Kirsten said.
“Broadcasting the Nichols Medal is a natural extension of that partnership and allows us to showcase the Northern Territory’s premier sporting awards night to viewers across the NT and nationally.”
The 2025/26 Nichols Medal will be held on Sunday, 8 March 2026 at the Beachside Pavilion, Mindil Beach Casino Resort, where the Nichols Medallist, Women’s Premier League Best and Fairest and senior competition standouts will be crowned.
Broadcast details, viewing and subscription information will be available via AFLNT, NTFL, NT News and KommunityTV platforms in the lead up to the event.
