AFL Northern Territory (AFLNT) is now accepting nominations for AFLNT Life Membership.
Life Membership recognises individuals who have made outstanding contributions to Australian Football in the Northern Territory. Nominations are open in three categories: Honorary Life Member, Player Life Member, and Umpire Life Member. Detailed criteria for each category are outlined below:
Submissions are due by close of business on Friday, 30 January 2026.
Honorary Life Member
This award recognises individuals who have provided exceptional service to Australian Football in the Northern Territory. Recipients are acknowledged for their long-term commitment and significant impact across the game at all levels.
Player Life Member
A Player Life Member is someone who has played 200 Men’s Senior Australian Football games or 150 Women’s Senior Australian Football games (combined total) for a club or multiple clubs in the TIO NTFL Premier League, NT Thunder (or any successor representative team), or Northern Territory representative teams.
Umpire Life Member
An Umpire Life Member is awarded to an individual who has officiated 200 Men’s or Women’s Senior Australian Football games (combined total) as a field or boundary umpire in the NTFL Premier League, or in any match involving NT Thunder (or its successor) or Northern Territory representative teams.
Alternatively, eligibility may be met by:
Officiating 200 Senior games as a goal umpire under the same conditions, with a minimum of 10 years of service, or
Umpiring across all three disciplines (field, boundary, and goal) to reach 200 games in total and providing at least 10 years of service.
Nominations should be sent to AFLNT and be eligible as per the guidelines for each category.
AFLNT encourages all clubs, associations, and football community members to honour those who have devoted their time, energy, and passion to the sport over many years.
