Queensland Women's Coach, Jamie Stanton:

Now in my second year as Queensland Women’s Coach, it’s been great to reconnect with the group and build on the foundations we laid last season. After a strong performance and a win last year, our focus is on taking things to the next level and continuing to establish Queensland as a dominant state in women’s Australian rules football.

We’ve welcomed back a number of experienced players while also introducing some exciting new talent. The response from the group has been outstanding—everyone has embraced the challenge, and the intensity and cohesion at training have been first-class.

The players have really bought into the concepts we’re working on as a coaching group, and it’s been rewarding to see the team come together so seamlessly. With the best talent in the state wearing the maroon, we’re confident in the side we’re putting on the park to take on Tasmania.

We know they’ll bring plenty of experience and physicality, but we’re ready. Our goal is to control the contest, manage the pressure, and play our brand of football.

We’re aiming not just for a win—but to continue building a program that sets the standard for women’s footy in this country.

Queensland Men's Coach, Steve Daniel:

I am very excited and honoured to be back involved coaching the Queensland Men's side. It was almost seventeen years ago l last had the opportunity to be involved and what fond memories we were able to make during that time.

2025 brings an exciting new challenge against Tasmania who over the last two years have been too good for us, so with that comes optimism and excitement to try and turn the tables.

We have been able to establish a very combative team that is ready to put their best foot forward to contribute and help guide Queensland to victory.

We are lucky to have some of the most professional TPIL Lawyers QAFL coaches involved in the program and working side by side with the very best players in the competition.
