The TIO NTFL Women’s Premier League competition is set to resume tomorrow with a match-up between St Mary’s and Waratah tomorrow afternoon at TIO Stadium. Waratah are building form as the season progresses, but it is hard to go past the Saints if making a prediction.

St Mary’s were winless after Round 3, but eight consecutive victories places them as one of the competition’s premiership favourites. Billie Byers and Ahlee Penry both enjoyed strong starts to the season while young gun Shakaila Gardiner-Dunn has been one of the club’s pre-Christmas highlights.

It should be an intriguing contest between sixth-placed Darwin Buffettes and fourth-placed Tiwi Bombers on Saturday at TIO Stadium. The Bombers will enter as favourites, but the double-blues will know that an upset win in this contest would drastically improve their finals chances.

The Buffettes are coming off a dour 12-point win over Southern Districts at Norbuilt Oval where Roxy Beuzeville, Ebony Abbott-McCormack and Talia Corrie all played large roles.

The Bombers have been strong improvers this season after the recruitment of a couple of standout performers from the SANFL competition.

Talented local Maria Rioli has also been one of the club’s better players and she is coming off kicking four out of the club’s five goals in the 20-point loss to St Mary’s in the last game before the Christmas break.

Wanderers will face Palmerston in the first of two games scheduled for Sunday at TIO Stadium. You would expect a one-sided contest in favour of the Magpies in this game as they look to hang on to fifth position on the ladder.

Palmerston are coming off a solid fortnight leading into the Christmas break, which included a gallant four-point loss to reigning premiers PINT and a comfortably 28-point win over Southern Districts.

Exciting youngster Marika Carlton was best-on-ground in the win over the Crocs, while Ella Ward and Taelah Smith have both provided great service for the Magpies pre-Christmas.

PINT will likely be too strong for Southern Districts in the final game of the round, scheduled for Sunday night at TIO Stadium. Led by players the calibre of Reni Hicks and Zoe McWhinney, the Queenants sit comfortably on top of the ladder without a loss.

TIO Stadium will play host to all Round 12 TIO NTFL Matches this weekend. Tickets are available for purchase here – including an exclusive $20 Weekend Pass, kids aged 14 and under are free in Round 12!
