Round 13 of the 2024/25 TIO NTFL season in Women’s Premier League kicks off with an excellent contest between second-placed Nightcliff and third-placed St Mary’s tonight at TIO Stadium.

It will be the first game in almost a month for the Tigers after finishing the pre-Christmas period with four consecutive wins. Players like Gabrielle Deller and Georgia Johnson started the season in strong form while Cassie McWilliam has been a dangerous threat in attack and leads allcomers in the goal-kicking race.

Meanwhile, the Saints have not tasted defeat since October and are considered one of the premiership favourites by many Top End football observers. The green and gold are coming off a massive 123-point win over Waratah last weekend with Billie Byers and Shakaila Gardiner-Dunn both producing strong outings.

Tiwi Bombers will be hoping for a percentage boosting win in their clash against Wanderers at Tracy Village tomorrow. The Bombers will be desperate to shake off last weekend’s disappointing 57-point loss to the Buffettes.

Tiwi now sit in sixth position, trailing the fifth-placed Darwin Buffettes by percentage. So, a big win here will undoubtedly be vital in what shapes as a nail-biting race for fifth position.

Wanderers started their post-Christmas campaign with a 170-point loss to Palmerston, but they will take confidence in the performances of Jamila Piercy, Leticia Lloyd and Anneka Piercy.

The Darwin Buffettes will face a big test on Saturday in the form of an undefeated PINT outfit. Led by dominant performances from Roxy Beuzeville, Dom Carbone and Talia Corrie, the double blues are coming off an excellent showing against the Tiwi Bombers. But they will need to bring all that and more if they are to cause on upset tomorrow at Cazalys Oval.

PINT remain the benchmark of the competition and sit comfortably atop of the ladder. But they will be disappointed by some woeful kicking on goal last week, finishing with 3.14 in their win over Southern Districts.

The final game of the round presents a matchup between two teams in desperate need of a win. The Crocs won their opening two games of the season but have not had the sweet taste of victory since. It was a spirited showing against PINT last weekend with Nayely Borg, Klarissa Van der Saag and Alessia Smythe all contributing strongly.

Waratah are hoping to rebound from a big loss to St Marys and will turn towards players like Madeleine Jeans, Joline Bouwer and Nikki Watts.
