The fifth round of the 2024/25 TIO NTFL season kicks off with an exciting clash between the Tiwi Bombers and Nightcliff at Gardens Oval. The Bombers had a shaky start in last week’s win over Buffaloes, trailing by as much as 26 points in the first term. But a stellar best-on-ground performance from Marlion Pickett and accurate finishing from forward Malachi Walley helped them turn the game around.

Nightcliff are coming off a bye and have included a couple of handy players in tomorrow’s line-up. The human glove Lewis Rinaldi has been named for his first game of the season, so expect him to nullify one of Tiwi’s prime movers in the middle, such as Sam Darley or Marlion Pickett. Rinaldi did a handful of excellent tagging jobs last season, curbing the influence of top-line players Dylan Landt and Jarrod Stokes.

PINT aim to return to the winner's list in their clash against Palmerston tomorrow at TIO Stadium. The Greenants have recorded just the one win so far this season but showed promising signs in last Saturday’s loss to Southern Districts. Despite ultimately falling short, PINT outplayed the Crocs in the second half with midfielder Tom Schott excellent with 28 disposals.

Palmerston will look to respond from a disappointing performance against Wanderers. The Magpies have included Geelong Football League star Brady Ferguson while ex-Essendon player Nick Hind has also been named.

In the late game at TIO Stadium, Wanderers face St Mary's in what should be a fast-paced match up. The Eagles are riding a high after recording their first win of the season last Friday night. An influx of interstate recruits has added depth to the Muk Muks and they will enter this contest full of confidence and optimism. Ball magnet Jaxon East was started the season in outstanding form and he was at his best against the Magpies, collecting a game-high 36 disposals and ten clearances.

The Saints had an upset loss to Waratah last week and will be looking to make a statement in this match. The Green and Gold will welcome some key inclusions, led by the midfield duo of Josh Smithson and Nate Paredes.

On Sunday, the Darwin Buffaloes host Southern Districts at Cazalys Oval. Despite a loss last weekend, Buffaloes coach Phillip Wills would have found positives in his side’s effort, particularly in the early stages of the contest.

The Crocs survived a late scare from PINT but are sitting comfortable on top of the ladder after four games. The midfield of Jed Anderson, Beau Schwarze and Matt Johnston are in strong form while big man Wyatt Ryan has established himself as the best ruckman in the competition so far.
