Logan's Everleigh Sports Park will host semi finals of the 2025 StreetSmarts AFLQ Schools Cup today for the first time in the competition’s history.

Schools from across Brisbane and Logan will compete on Tuesday September 9 and Wednesday September 10 in the youth female, youth male, junior female and junior male divisions.

The competition is proudly presented by AFL Queensland and Logan City Council.

Other semi finals will be hosted at Bond University, featuring schools in the senior male and senior female divisions.

More than 600 students will compete across six divisions of school footy.

The winners from each division will advance to the Queensland State Finals to be played on the Sunshine Coast in October.

All games will be livestreamed and commentated, thanks to AFL Queensland’s partnership with KommunityTV.

Head of AFL Queensland and International Trisha Squires thanked Logan City Council for their support of the competition.

"We are thrilled that Everleigh Sports Park, our 2024 Australian Football League's Ken Gannon Community Football Facilities Award winner, will host games for the 2025 StreetSmarts AFLQ Schools Cup competition," she said.

“2025 looks set to be another record breaking year, with more than 800 teams participating,” she said.

“We are so excited to see the best teams from across South East Queensland play in Logan and on the Gold Coast, showcasing their skills and ability at the semi finals.

“We thank Logan City Council and all AFL Queensland staff, umpires, students, teachers, parents and administrators for supporting this year’s competition.”

Logan Mayor Jon Raven said the city was the best place to host AFL players from right across South East Queensland.

“Everleigh Sports Park is the perfect location to host the 2025 StreetSmarts AFLQ Schools Cup Semi Finals – one of the largest school competitions in the country,” Mayor Raven said.

“We love footy in our city and it’s great to see so much talent on display in our award-winning facility, which has been designed to support the needs of the fastest growing city in Queensland.”
