The final teams are in for Saturday’s huge representative double-header against Queensland, with Tasmania’s top men’s and women’s footballers set to do battle on the Gold Coast.

Head coaches Aaron Cornelius and Deb Reynolds have worked closely with their assistant coaches in recent months, analysing competitions across the state.

Initial squads were announced for both the men’s and women’s teams back in May. Since then, these squads have been altered, with some players brought in following strong regular competition performances and the squad eventually cut down to the starting teams that will take to the field this weekend.

The final teams for both sides are listed below.

The leadership groups for both teams have also been confirmed, with North Launceston veteran Brad Cox-Goodyer to captain the men’s side and Bridgenorth star Alice Robinson named as women’s captain.

Cox-Goodyer led the men’s side in their historic victory over Queensland at North Hobart Oval last year, and he was among Tasmania’s best players on the day. He will be supported by Lauderdale’s Andrew Phillips as vice-captain.

Robinson steps into the captaincy of the women’s team after featuring in last year’s clash with Queensland, and she recently starred for the Northern Tasmanian Football Association in the Women’s Statewide All-Stars Series. Wynyard midfielder Olivia Smith has been named as vice-captain of the side.
