The next generation of AFLW talent will take centre stage in the 2025 Marsh AFL National Championships – U18 Girls, which begins with three matches in Melbourne this weekend.

The Championships are the highest standard of representative state and territory football for under 18 footballers, with matches set to be played across Australia over the next two months.

The action begins with three matches in Melbourne this Sunday, June 22.

Victoria Country will take on the Allies in the opening match at Sandringham’s Trevor Barker Beach Oval from 9:30am AEST. The Allies squad features players from NSW/ACT, Northern Territory and Tasmania.

A double header will then be played at nearby RSEA Park in Moorabbin, with Western Australia taking on Queensland from 11:50am, before reigning title-holder Victoria Metro hosts South Australia from 1:50pm.

Each team will play four matches at this year’s Marsh AFL National Championships – U18 Girls, with the team that finishes atop the standings at the conclusion of the round-robin tournament to be crowned title winner.

If two teams finish equal on points atop the ladder, the title will be awarded to the team that won the round-robin match between those teams. If more than two teams finish equal on points atop the ladder, the title will be awarded to the team with the highest percentage.

A competition best and fairest and All Australian team will be selected by a panel comprising AFL Talent Pathways staff and AFL club recruiters at the conclusion of the 2025 Marsh AFL National Championships – U18 Girls.

Victoria Metro skipper and Richmond draftee Sierra Grieves won the best and fairest award in 2024 after leading her team to the title in an undefeated campaign.
