THE player judged as the Best & Fairest in the Under 18 age group will now be presented with the Angus Anderson Medal.

Anderson, a proud product of the Sawtell Toormina Saints, is the first male player from the AFL North Coast to play in the AFL.

The 22 year-old made his debut for Collingwood during Gather Round four weeks ago and he has impressed many with his strength in the contest and ball winning abilities since then.

In recognition of his tremendous achievement, the AFL North Coast offered Anderson the honour of having the Under 18 B&F award named after in.

Showing the humility that he's displayed since starting his football journey as a Sawtell Toormina Auskicker, Anderson took some time to think about it before accepting the honour.

Shortly after being drafted by Collingwood, Angus Anderson returned to Sawtell Toormina to assist juniors at the club he grew up playing for.

Having the Under 18 award re-named the Angus Anderson Medal is apt as he himself won it in 2020 when the AFL North Coast had an Under 17 age group (he also finished runner-up in the senior award in the same year).

Anderson joins a prestigious list of people from the AFL North Coast's history to have a similar honour bestowed upon them.
