Development Carnival
The AFL Sydney Juniors Development Carnival has been created for boys and girls aged 9-11 years old to enjoy football in a fun, supportive and developmental environment. At this age children are still learning the fundamentals of the game and the carnival is all about giving them the opportunity to play, learn and grow at a slightly higher standard, representing their region.
Players across Sydney Junior Clubs will come together in their regions, to play as one team for a great day of junior footy.
The regions, along with their aligned junior clubs are as outlined in below document.
Date: Sunday 7th June 2026
Venue: Olds Park, Forest Rd, Penshurst
Time: please note these timings are just a guide with exact timings to be confirmed by mid march.
- U9 Girls, U9 Boys, U10 Girls - Morning (8am - 1pm)
- U10 Boys, U11 Boys, U11 Girls - Afternoon (1pm - 6pm)
Cost: $100 per participant (paid directly to club)
Inclusions:
- 3 x training sessions in weeks leading into carnival
- playing shorts, socks and hoodie in region colours
- food voucher for the day
- round robin games, officiated by AFL Sydney Juniors Umpires on the Development Carnival day
How to be involved:
- Clubs will be asked to nominate players from the U9, U10, U11 boys and girls age groups. Reach out to your club for more information.
