Schools competed in both girls and boys competitions for the chance to continue through to the state finals, scheduled for July 2025 at Blacktown International Sportspark.
Waverley College were victorious on the day, defeating their neighbours Woollahra Public School 4.2 26 to 1.1.7.
Eastern Sydney's Gala Day follows the state's south beginning the year's events with Bega hosting the state's' first competition last Friday, 7th March.

Oliver Florent, Will Green, Joel Hamling and Caiden Cleary from the Sydney Swans were on hand to coach and support the teams through the day. Both Swans and GWS GIANTS players will be present throughout the competition as reminders of the pathway to the game’s elite level here in NSW.
The day followed on from a significant weekend for the AFL in Sydney, with almost 60,000 fans turning out to watch the GWS GIANTS and Sydney Swans in action for Opening Round of the 2025 Toyota AFL Premiership Season.
For the first time, participants were also eligible to receive $50 AFL NSW/ACT Connect Vouchers, entitling them to $50 off registration in the AFL Sydney Juniors competition.
The vouchers represent a $1.5M investment from the AFL to growing participation in Greater Sydney and enables students who play Australian Rules through their schools, including After School Auskick and Paul Kelly Cup, to join a Junior Australian Football Club at a reduced cost.

250 teams from over 100 schools across the state have already registered to take part in the contest, which was first run in 1997.
Registrations are still open through the online portal here.
VNR from the day is available here.
