The Sydney Swans have announced the club has reached 70,000 members in record time, by Round 6 of the 2026 season.

Ahead of tonight’s Sydney Derby XXXI at the SCG, the club’s official membership tally of 70,361 is the earliest it has ever reached the milestone in any one season.

The milestone has been made possible by the incredible support of loyal members from South Melbourne to Sydney and right across Australia.

Last year, Sydney broke its all-time membership record with 75,165 members, and with a significant portion of the men’s season still to play and the looming AFLW season, the club’s focus now turns to its goal of 80,000 members in 2026.

Sydney Swans Chief Executive Officer Matthew Pavlich has thanked those who are part of the red and white family this season.

“Hitting 70,000 members in record time is a fantastic achievement and testament to how the club has shown up in the early part of the season,” Pavlich said.

“From Opening Round to Gather Round, the Swans have pulled in some huge crowds, and the boys are producing some exciting footy on the field.

“We’re looking at another 40,000 fans in the house for tonight’s Derby at the SCG and can’t wait to see what Coxy and the boys produce.

“It’s not too late to jump on board and secure a membership for the remainder of the 2026 AFL season, with a host of marquee games around the corner. Or, if you haven’t joined as an AFLW member for season 2026 get in early and show your support."
