The AFL community across New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory mourns the passing of Anthony Dignan.
Dignan, 56, passed away last Friday (May 23) having bravely fought a 12-week battle with cancer.
Dignan was a cornerstone of the AFL community in NSW and the ACT and is remembered as a valuable player and administrator of the game.
His playing career saw Dignan represent both the Manly Wolves and North Shore Bombers, the latter of which he helped win a Reserve Grade Premiership, kicking the winning goal after the siren.
Dignan also served as Senior Football Operations Manager at AFL NSW/ACT and as AFL Canberra’s General Manager in the early 2000s and was General Manager of the East Coast Eagles from 2007 to 2009.
AFL NSW/ACT extends its deepest condolences to Dignan’s family and many friends and colleagues across football.
