In 2026, Pacific Pines AFC will enter Saturday competition for the first time, after being granted a license to enter the QFA Division 2 South competition.
The Power's elevation comes after many years of hard work, with the club being granted a provisional QFA Division 2 license for the 2026 season, allowing them to enter two QFA Division 3 sides in 2025 to support the process for their elevation.
Pacific Pines have been a powerhouse across the Friday night competitions, winning the 2022 QFA Division 4 premiership, the 2023 QFA Division 3 South premiership and were the 2025 QFA Division 3 Gold Coast premiers. These results spoke to the work they did in establishing a strong football program and put themselves in the best possible possition to be successful in their elevation.
Competitions Manager - Queensland Mitchell Simpson congratulated Pacific Pines on their elevation.
"We have been in conversations with the club for a number of years around their ambitions to get to Division 2, and it is pleasing to see the club achieve this goal," he said.
"They've proven their ability to run a successful football program, winning three premierships in four years, and have now proven they have the depth to enter Division 2 and we look forward to seeing the club grow over the coming seasons."
Newly appointed Pacific Pines Senior President, Chris Joines welcomed the news.
‘It’s a great opportunity for the boys to elevate their game, coming up against newer and tougher competition," he said.
Pacific Pines Head Coach Robby Comfort echoed Joines sentiments.
"Our move to Division 2 is a reward for the hard work and bond this team/club has built over the past 12-18 months," he said.
"It’s a great experience for the seniors and a pathway for our juniors too."
