Held at Adelaide Oval during Gather Round 2025, AFL Schools hosted their third Education Summit welcoming teachers all over Australia.

Educators took part in a day of expert-led sessions and interactive workshops focused on integrating AFL into the school curriculum and supporting student wellbeing. Guided by the theme Inspiring Active & Healthy Learners, the event showcased soon to be launched resources Coles Healthy Kicks - a national initiative that promotes active, healthy lifestyles in schools through AFL.

The practical session of the day included a NAB AFL Superkick demonstration and hands on activities with Blaec Ablett and Stephanie Pearce from the AFL.

Emily Hartley, Head Performance Dietician at Port Adelaide Football Club, delivered a standout session on the role of nutrition in elite sport, sharing practical tips for translating those strategies into classrooms and staffrooms alike.

The day concluded with a Q&A featuring Western Bulldogs coach Matt Spangher, connecting the worlds of coaching and teaching through stories of leadership and growth.

The summit left attendees inspired and equipped to create healthier, more active learning environments - proving AFL’s power as a vehicle for positive change in education.
