Tasmania Premier Leagues

The Tasmania Premier Leagues are the top level of community football in the state, with competitions in each of the three regions – North-West, North and Southern Tasmania.

Men’s and women’s competitions in the SFL Premier League, NTFA Premier League, and NWFL Premier League underpin regional representative footy and feed into Tasmania’s VFL and VFLW programs.

These competitions are part of AFL Tasmania’s commitment to fostering three strong football regions ahead of the establishment of Tasmania’s impending AFL and AFLW teams.

North West Football League

The North West Football League is the top level of football in the north west of Tasmania, made up of eight clubs from across the region.

Southern Football League

The Southern Football League is played across two divisions from 2025, with the six-team Premier League representing the highest level of community football in the region and sitting above the Community League.

Northern Tasmanian Football Association

The Northern Tasmanian Football Association is made up of three divisions, with six teams competing in the Premier League, nine clubs in Division 1, and seven teams in Division 2.

Live Streaming

One men’s game and one women’s game in every region is streamed live each round on the AFL Tasmania YouTube channel.
