The 2025 AFL All Australian Team was unveiled on Thursday night at the AFL Awards presentation in Melbourne, with 13 players who grew up playing local footy in Victoria named in the side.
A total of eleven players received their maiden All Australian blazers, including Noah Anderson (Hawthorn Citz), Zac Bailey, Josh Battle (Hallam/Narre Warren), Jordan Clark, Hugh McCluggage (South Warrnambool/Allansford), Kysaiah Pickett, Ed Richards (Hawthorn Citz), Matt Rowell (Canterbury Cobras/Hawthorn Citz), Bailey Smith (East Malvern), Riley Thilthorpe and Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera, who were each selected in the final team of 22 for the first time in their careers.
Max Gawn (Ormond JFC) became the seventh player in the competition’s history to be selected in the final team for a record eighth time, joining Gary Ablett Snr, Gary Ablett Jnr, Patrick Dangerfield, Lance Franklin, Robert Harvey and Mark Ricciuto.
This was followed by Marcus Bontempelli (Eltham Panthers), who received All Australian honours for a seventh time to equal Wayne Carey, Stephen Silvagni and current All Australian selector, Nathan Buckley.
Jeremy Cameron (Dartmoor), who collected his fifth All Australian blazer, was named the 2025 All Australian Captain, while Jordan Dawson was named Vice-Captain, with his second selection.
Nick Daicos (Kew Rovers) and Caleb Serong (Warragul) – alongside Bontempelli, Cameron, Gawn and Isaac Heeney – retained their spot from the 2024 AFL All Australian Team, which also marks their third consecutive selection.
The Brisbane Lions and Western Bulldogs had the equal most players selected in the final team, with three each.
The full list of club representation was – Adelaide Crows (two), Brisbane Lions (three), Collingwood (one), Fremantle (two), Geelong Cats (two), Gold Coast SUNS (two), GWS GIANTS (one), Hawthorn (two), Melbourne (two), St Kilda (one), Sydney Swans (one) and Western Bulldogs (three).
The 2025 All Australian selection panel consisted of Andrew Dillon (Chair), Eddie Betts, Jude Bolton, Nathan Buckley, Kane Cornes, Abbey Holmes, Glen Jakovich, Laura Kane and Matthew Pavlich.
