The AFL this week announced the 2024 AFLW All Australian team, with seven of the 21 players named growing up playing local footy in Victoria.

North Melbourne's Jasmine Garner, who grew up playing local footy for Yarraville in Melbourne's inner-west, was recognised as captain for the second time.

Garner's selection in the 2024 team was her seventh All Australian selection in her career, a feat only matched by teammate Emma Kearny and 2024 AFLW Best and Fairest Ebony Marinoff.

12 players received their maiden All Australian blazer and eight retained their spot in the side from the 21 picked in 2023.
