The hunt for South Australia’s best kick is currently underway and we’re opening it up to anyone brave enough to challenge it. Will South Australia defend home turf? Or will another state steal the crown?

Divisions available for:

  • Men
  • Women
  • Youth Boys
  • Youth Girls

Each competitor takes 10 kicks from set spots inside the forward 50.

You have 2.5 minutes to complete all attempts.

Standard AFL scoring applies: Goals = 6 points, Behinds = 1 point.

To qualify for the preliminary final on Saturday 11th April. Interstate Men competitors must achieve a score 55 or over and Interstate Women/Youth a score of 50 or over.

The interstate wildcard event will run from 1:00pm - 6:00pm on Friday 10th April. 

It's FREE to compete. You can register your spot here, booking into a 10-minute timeslot for your division. 

YES! The Interstate wildcard is fun for everyone, whether you are supporting someone you know having a kick or just want something else to do at Gather Round, you can come by and catch a DJ, Photobooth, food and some exciting goal kicking. 

If an interstate competitor makes the minimum score (55 - Men, 50 - Women/Youth) you will be invited to attend the Preliminary Finals.  These finals will take place on Saturday, 11th April between 9 and 2pm at Sturt FC, Unley.  Here you will take on the best of SA kicking talent for a spot in the State Final. Winners of the State Final will take home $5000 and $5000 will also be awarded to the kickers nominated Community Club plus you'll get the title of South Australia's best kick for 2026

Community clubs across South Australia hosted competitions throughout January and February. All places in the preliminary final for South Australian's have now been filled by competitors who won their local competition and regional qualifying finals. South Australian residents are unable to progress through to the State Final via the Interstate Wildcard event. You are invited to come down and cheer on the South Australian preliminary finalists at the preliminary final on Saturday 11th April. For more information on the preliminary Final click here.
