The 2024 Women’s Statewide All-Stars Series will kick off this weekend, with Tasmania’s top women’s footballers set to battle it out once again for regional supremacy.

Now in its fourth year, the series brings together representative sides from the Southern Football League (SFL), North West Football League (NWFL) and Northern Tasmanian Football Association (NTFA), with each team facing each other once across two weekends for bragging rights over Tasmania. The SFL claimed the title for the first-time last year, following on from back-to-back victories for the NWFL.

The first game will take place this Sunday June 2 when the NWFL hosts the NTFA at Dial Park, with remaining fixtures to be played a week later over the King’s Birthday long weekend.

AFL Tasmania Community Football Manager, Tom Barwick, said: “The Women’s Statewide All-Stars Series has become a highlight on the Tassie footy calendar, and we’re set for another exciting battle between the three regions this year. The regional rivalry draws out the passion of the associations and the broader football community.

“The series allows our state’s top players to train together and to challenge themselves against the best of the best, an important step in rewarding and developing our aspirational players and an important part of the community football pathway.”
