Week 3 of the 2024/25 TIO NTFL Men’s and Women’s Premier League Finals Series has been scheduled.
With St Mary’s win over PINT, St Mary’s have automatically sealed their spot in the 2024/25 TIO NTFL Women’s Premier League Grand Final.
To meet St Mary’s in the Grand Final, The Nightcliff Tigers will clash with ladder leaders PINT at TIO Stadium on Saturday 8 March at 4:30pm.
PINT, coming off a hard-fought loss to St Mary’s, will be eager to bounce back and secure a spot in the Grand Final to defend the title they've held for the past two seasons. Jasmyn Hewett was once again outstanding, delivering a performance that reminded the NTFL community why she has claimed two Women's Best and Fairest medals. Paige Sheppard continued to play with relentless intensity, while captain Reni Hicks inspired her side to keep challenging the opposition at every turn.
Nightcliff delivered a polished performance against the Palmerston Magpies, keeping their premiership aspirations intact. Tshinta Kendall and Mickayla Ward were exceptional, dominating the Magpies' defense with powerful contested marks and relentless pressure at ground level. Gabrielle Deller was a standout across the contest, showing remarkable efficiency with both her foot and hand, contributing significantly to her team's dominance.
Southern Districts are one step closer to completing what has been an astonishing season securing their spot in the 2024/25 TIO NTFL Men’s Premier League Grand Final.
To join the Crocs in battle for premiership glory, the Nightcliff Tigers will first have to clash with St Mary’s in a 2023/24 TIO NTFL Grand Final replay at TIO Stadium on Saturday 8 March at 6:45pm.
Nightcliff Tigers have been credited with one of the strongest lineups in the league. Brodie Filo was outstanding, showcasing that the Tigers are ready for whatever is thrown at them in the finals. Nicknamed ‘The Glove’ Lewis Rinaldi will have his hands full with bustling Saints midfield. Returning to the side in the Semi Final, Alexander Paech will be looking to give his team first use using his physical ruck style and to match with the St Mary’s ruck.
St Mary’s will be all fired up after clinching victory after one of the best games of the season against the Tiwi Bombers. Dylan Landt was unbelievable, racking up the possessions and gliding on air to kick three goals that secured the win for his side. Kieren Parnell arguably had his best game of the season intercepting anything that come his way. Domonic Grant was equally impressive finding himself orchestrating the play from the wing.
All other divisions will have their fixtures uploaded to the PlayHQ Website after the completion of Finals Week Two.
