The AFL has today released the schedule for the 2025 Marsh AFL National Championships.
Featuring the most talented under 18 and under 16 footballers from across Australia, the Championships will be played across the country from April to August.
AFL Head of Talent, Nicky Couston, said: “The Marsh AFL National Championships are the highest standard of representative football for young footballers and present players the chance to showcase their talent to a national audience.
“The AFL is committed to providing a pathways systems that enables players to reach their full potential and we are thrilled to give our talented young athletes the opportunity to represent their states and territories.
“We thank Marsh for their continued commitment to the Marsh AFL National Championships and their support of the next generation as they pursue their football dreams.”
The action will begin with the 2025 Marsh AFL National Development Championships – U16 Girls, which will be played from Sunday, April 6 through to Thursday, April 17.
The competition will feature 10 teams playing in two pools. Each team will play two matches, with the competition to include three double-headers.
The 2025 Marsh AFL National Development Championships – U16 Boys will also feature 10 teams playing in two pools and will commence with a double-header in Melbourne on Monday, June 9 during the King’s Birthday weekend.
The first round of fixtures will see matches played across four states and territories. All matches in the final two rounds will again be played on the Gold Coast from July 14 to 18 during the school holidays.
The 2025 Marsh AFL National Championships – U18 Boys will be played from Sunday, June 1 to Sunday, July 20.
The five-team round-robin series will see each team play each other once, with venues to be confirmed shortly.
The 2025 Marsh AFL National Championships – U18 Boys will commence with a game between the Allies and South Australia in New South Wales, and will conclude with a clash between reigning title-holder Victoria Metro and Victoria Country.
The 2025 Marsh AFL National Championships – U18 Girls will be played from Saturday, June 22 to Sunday, August 10. Host states have been announced for match, with venues to be confirmed in due course.
The Marsh AFL National Championships – U18 Girls will again feature six teams, who will each play four matches – one more match than in previous years.
SQUADS AND BROADCAST: Squads and broadcast details will be confirmed prior to the first game for each of the Championships.
