AFL Sydney has named the coaches and athletes selected to represent the league’s best in the highly anticipated NSW/ACT Men’s and Women’s Senior Representative games, to be played on Saturday 16 May.
The handpicked squad lists have been assembled from across the AFL Sydney competition and showcase the next generation of emerging football talent on the pathway to higher honours. Representative football remains one of the most significant acknowledgements for players within the league, rewarding consistent performance throughout the season while providing an opportunity to test themselves in a high-performance environment against the best from across the region.
The AFL Sydney v AFL Canberra fixtures also play a key role in the selection process, with coaches and selectors using the matches to finalise their squads ahead of the upcoming representative showcase against AFL Queensland, set to be played on Saturday 11 July. The contests provide an important platform for players to demonstrate their ability to adapt to representative structures, execute game plans under pressure, and push their case for final selection.
The match-ups between AFL Sydney and AFL Canberra are expected to deliver high-intensity and competitive football, with both squads featuring strong talent across all lines. The rivalry between the two leagues has traditionally produced fast-paced and physical contests, and this year is expected to be no different as players look to make their mark on the representative stage.
Umpires from Sydney, Canberra, Hunter Central Coast and the South Coast will officiate across the series, highlighting the depth and strength of officiating talent throughout NSW and the ACT.
Fans, family and friends will be able to catch all the action from the NSW/ACT Men’s and Women’s Senior Representative games live and free via AFL Canberra’s official streaming partner, All In Sports.
