We’re only days away from a blockbuster clash between the Gold Coast SUNS and St Kilda! To help you make the most of your evening, here’s your essential guide to match day at TIO Stadium. 

 

Before You Arrive 

 

Tickets 

 

Tickets will be available for purchase at Bonson and Ah Mat Gates only. 

We strongly encourage all patrons to purchase online to beat the queues via ticketmaster.com.au 

 

What You Can & Can’t Bring 

  • Fold up camping chairs and rugs are permitted. 

  • If bringing a camping chair, please sit on the upper areas of the grass hills to ensure all patrons can enjoy the match. 

  • Sealed plastic water bottles and empty YETI bottles are permitted inside TIO Stadium. Any unsealed bottles will be emptied prior to entry. 

  • No beverages (except sealed bottled water) are permitted to be brought into the venue. 

  • Patrons are welcome to bring sealed food/ snacks into the venue; however, fast food items are not permitted. 

 

Smoking & Vaping 

Smoking and vaping is strictly prohibited within TIO Stadium. Designated smoking and vaping areas are located outside Bonson Gate, Ah Mat Gate and Scoreboard Gate.  

 

Failure to follow these directions may result in eviction from the venue. 

 

Match Day Timings 

 

2:30pm – Bonson Gate Opens 

2:45pm – AFL Talent League Curtain Raiser Match – NT Academy v GWV Rebels 

5:00pm – Ah Mat and Scoreboard Gates Open 

6:15pm – Corporate Hospitality Packages Commence 

6:40pm – AFL Toyota Premiership Match – Gold Coast SUNS v St Kilda 

7:50pm – Half-Time NAB Auskick (approx.) 

9:10pm – Match Concludes (approx.) – Kick2Kick after the second siren 

 

Gates & Entry 

 

Bonson Gate 

Opens at 2:30pm ahead of the AFL Talent League match between the Cazalys NT Talent Academy and the GWV Rebels. Tickets will be available for purchase at this location unless sold out. 

 

Ah Mat Gate 

Opens at 5:00pm. Tickets will be available for purchase at this location unless sold out. 

 

Scoreboard Gate 

Opens at 5:00pm. Please note that tickets are not available for purchase at this gate. 

To ensure the best in-stadium experience, please familiarise yourself with your ticket entry type and the correct entry lane. 

 

Patrons are required to line up in the lane designated for their ticket type. All grandstand reserved seat holders will be issued a wristband upon entry once their ticket is scanned. 

 

Corporate Hospitality guests can collect their wristband when arriving at their designated hospitality area. Hospitality guests will also have access to an express entry lane located at the Bonson Gate ticket office. 

 

Getting To & From TIO Stadium 

Dedicated CDC event buses will run to and from TIO Stadium from Darwin, Casuarina, Palmerston and Humpty Doo via Coolalinga. Bus capacities are strictly limited and subject to capacity.

  • Darwin (via Stuart Hwy, Bagot Rd & McMillans Rd): 16:45, 17:30 & 18:00 

  • Palmerston (via Pinelands): 17:00 & 17:30 

  • Rural (Humpty Doo via Coolalinga): 17:30 

 

Services Departing TIO Stadium 

  • Darwin (via Stuart Hwy, Bagot Rd & McMillans Rd): 21:30, 21:45, 22:00 & 22:15 

  • Casuarina: 21:30 & 21:45

Car Parking 

Public car parking is available throughout Abala Road and the Marrara Sporting Complex. 

 

Designated accessible parking is located at the Bonson Gate carpark. Patrons are advised to arrive early to avoid queues and traffic congestion. 

 

Food & Drink 

A variety of food stalls will be operating throughout the venue, offering a range of food and non-alcoholic beverages.

Family Friendly Zone & Fun Zone 

The Family Friendly Zone is located at the southern end of the ground, from the Carpentaria Accessibility Platform to the McMahon Services Platform. 

 

Please note this is a dry area, with no alcohol permitted at any time. 

 

Free Fun Zone 

Located behind the Family Friendly Zone, the Fun Zone will include free activities such as: 

  • Jumping castles 

  • Face painting 

  • AFLNT handball target 

 

Accessibility 

 

Carpentaria Accessible Area 

A private accessible viewing area is located behind the goals at the airport end of the venue. 

 

Sensory packs will also be available from the Carpentaria Information Stall inside Bonson Gate. 

 

Merchandise 

INTERSPORT will be selling limited Gold Coast SUNS and St Kilda merchandise on the concourse behind the grandstand near Ah Mat Gate. Don’t miss your chance to grab exclusive game-day gear while stocks last. 

 

ATM’s 

ATM’s will be available behind the grandstand. 

 

Guard of Honour Participants 

All Guard of Honour participants are asked to assemble by 6:10pm sharp at the Michael Long Learning and Leadership Centre end of the grandstand. 

 

Please ensure you arrive on time and check in with the Game Development coordinator upon arrival. Participants will then be briefed and escorted onto the field in preparation to form the Guard of Honour as the teams run out. 

 

NAB AFL Auskick Half-Time Participants 

All NAB AFL Auskick participants scheduled to play during the half-time break are to meet at the changerooms on TIO Oval #2 by quarter-time (approximately 7:00pm). 

Coordinators will be present to organise groups, distribute apparel and ensure all players are ready to take the field at half-time. 

 

Parents and guardians are welcome to stay nearby until participants are escorted to the main oval.
