AFL Northern Territory and the Gold Coast SUNS are pleased to announce acclaimed First Nations artist Kobie Dee as the official pre-match entertainment for the Sir Doug Nicholls Round 10 match between the Gold Coast SUNS and Yartapuulti at TIO Stadium on Friday 15 May.

Kobie Dee’s performance will be a key part of the match day experience, bringing music and storytelling to the stage ahead of the first siren in what is set to be a special Sir Doug Nicholls Round fixture in Darwin, following his standout performance at Dreamtime at the G’ in 2025.

A 26-year-old Gomeroi artist from Maroubra in South Sydney on Bidjigal Land, Kobie Dee has built a reputation as one of the most compelling voices in Australian hip hop. Known for his storytelling and strong connection to community, his music reflects culture, identity and lived experience.

Since signing with Bad Apples Music, Kobie has performed nationally and internationally, including major festivals such as VIVID LIVE, SXSW Sydney, Listen Out and BIGSOUND, alongside touring and supporting international artists. His debut EP Gratitude Over Pity received critical acclaim and AIR Award recognition.

Alongside his music career, Kobie is actively involved in community work as an ambassador for Weave Youth & Community Services and has been recognised for his contribution to First Nations communities through multiple industry awards.

Head of AFL Northern Territory Sam Gibson said Kobie Dee’s performance adds to the significance of the round in the Territory.

“Sir Doug Nicholls Round is about showcasing and celebrating First Nations culture across our game and the Northern Territory,” Gibson said.

“Kobie Dee brings a powerful voice to that celebration, and his performance will be a meaningful part of the match day experience here in Darwin.”

Gold Coast SUNS Chief Executive Officer Mark Evans highlighted what competing in the Top End during Sir Doug Nicholls Round means to the club and its First Nations representatives.

“The opportunity to play in Darwin during Sir Doug Nicholls Round is always a highlight and particularly special for many of our Indigenous players who have strong connections to the Northern Territory.

“We are thrilled to have a First Nations talent like Kobie Dee performing pre-game as part of Sir Doug Nicholls Round celebrations.

“It’s a great opportunity to showcase our football club and the Territory on a national stage in front of our Territory SUNS Fans."

The Round 10 fixture will see the Gold Coast SUNS return to TIO Stadium to take on Yartapuulti following their Round 9 clash against St Kilda.

The pre-match entertainment is supported by Santos, the Official Pre-Match Entertainment Partner for the Round 10 fixture.

Tickets are available via Ticketmaster, with strong demand expected across both Darwin fixtures. Fans are encouraged to arrive early to experience pre-match entertainment and be part of Sir Doug Nicholls Round in the Top End.
