AFL Queensland is excited to announce the release of the TPIL Lawyers QFAW Division 2 fixtures for the upcoming 2025 season.

This year, the competition will feature a new structure, splitting Division 2 into three regional divisions – North, South, and Central.

The restructure is designed to make the game more accessible by reducing travel time for players and clubs, which will contribute to a more competitive and sustainable competition.

The three divisions will kick off the weekend of April 26th, to mark ANZAC Day.

Mitchell Simpson, Queensland Competition Manager, said AFL Queensland was thrilled to have TPIL Lawyers on board.

“It’s fantastic to welcome TPIL Lawyers as the new naming rights sponsor for QFAW Division 2,” he said.

“This partnership marks a significant milestone in the continued growth of women’s football in Queensland, and we are excited to see the three newly structured leagues kick off later this month.”

This season will also see the return of Coolangatta to women’s football and the debut of Ormeau’s first ever women’s team, further expanding the reach and depth of women’s Australian rules football in Queensland.

“As part of our ongoing commitment to community football, making the game easier to play is a key consideration,” said Mr. Simpson.

“The decision to split into three regional divisions was driven by the desire to reduce travel time for players, which we believe will have a positive impact on both the players' experience and the overall competition.”

Key highlights on the fixture include honouring Sir Doug Nicholls across Rounds 4 and 5. Pride Round will also be celebrated over two weekends in Rounds 13 and 14.

Finals will begin with elimination and qualifying matches on August 16th, leading to the Grand Final, which will be played on Saturday, September 6th.
