What did winning a Phelan Medal/s mean to you?

It was a proud achievement, exciting I felt very honoured.

 

What impact did winning a Phelan Medal have on your playing career? 

To be honest, it didn't really have any impact. It was just an honour to have my name alongside some very big names in Sydney Football.

 

What is your most memorable moment from your career in Sydney? 

Finally winning a Premiership with the Bulldogs in 2019, it was my 11th attempt and doing it at 49 years of age made it felt more special.

 

Did you have any pre-game superstitions or routines?

Always the same breakfast, get to the game early and start preparing well ahead of time.

 

What is the best advice you received as a player and from who? 

Steven Bird, my former coach in Nelson Bay always said you cannot go wrong by just having a crack. Always play with confidence and make the most of every moment.

 

What would be one piece of advice for young players coming into AFL Sydney?

Always believe that anything can be achieved with dedication and commitment. Play every game like it could be your last and never leave anything to chance.
