Nightcliff Tigers talent Taj Murray has earned selection in the 2025 Allies squad for the upcoming Marsh AFL National Championships, following a string of standout performances that have cemented his status as one of the top prospects in this year’s Telstra AFL Draft class.
Murray, a mobile ruck with strong athletic presence, has impressed early in the 2025 Coates Talent League season. In the 2025 campaign, he registered 9 disposals, 2 marks, 6 tackles, and 17 hitouts against the Calder Cannons. He backed that up with a dominant display against the Murray Bushrangers, finishing with 15 disposals, 8 marks, 2 tackles, and a game-high 29 hitouts.
Returning to Darwin to face the Western Jets, Murray continued his strong form, collecting 11 disposals, 4 marks, 3 tackles, and another match-high 22 hitouts.
His selection also follows impressive outings for the Australian Under 18s side earlier this year, where he tested himself against senior opposition from the Richmond and Coburg VFL teams.
The Allies squad brings together elite under-18 talent from the ACT, New South Wales, Queensland, Tasmania, and the Northern Territory. The team will compete in four matches from June 1 to July 13 as part of the national championships.
