Fresh off a weekend of exciting Round 1 action, AFL Sapphire Coast are thrilled to announce a partnership with Club Narooma for the 2026 season.

Club Narooma join the competition as the naming partner for the Men’s competitions, including the newly created Reserve Grade competition. With this support, teams will play for the ultimate honour in the Club Narooma Men’s First Grade and Club Narooma Men’s Reserve Grade premierships.

Club Narooma already has a strong connection with the competition’s teams, proudly supporting the Narooma Lions. This enhanced support and leaguewide partnership will support the league to deliver exceptional outcomes for the league in addition to the great support they already provide its clubs.

AFL Sapphire Coast Competition Manager, Casey White spoke glowingly about the agreement. “Small community sporting organisations rely on the support of local businesses to deliver the best possible experiences for our participants.”

“The support of Club Narooma is significant, as not only will it financially support the delivery of the competition, it ensures our major events are more accessible to the northern clubs having had a decade of travel to attend these previously” White said.

As part of the return on investment for Club Narooma’s contribution, AFL Sapphire Coast have committed to hosting the competition’s presentation night, scheduled for the Wednesday September 2 in addition to a Team Announcement function for the Sapphire Coast representative teams.

“Club Narooma have been an exceptional host for AFL Sapphire Coast when we have held league meetings at the venue previously, and we can’t wait to bring our signature events to the north of the region in 2026.”

The support from Club Narooma, in addition to the financial support of the league, will see weekly awards in finals for the players deemed best afield by the umpires in senior competition matches. These players will receive Club Narooma vouchers, as recognition of their performance.

Brendan Matters, CEO Club Narooma expressed his excitement at the potential opportunity for both the competition and his venue throughout the duration of the partnership.

“Club Narooma is incredibly proud to partner with AFL Sapphire Coast. We are excited about what we can achieve together both now and into the future. AFL Sapphire Coast is widely regarded as one of the best-run sporting organisations in our region and we’re honoured to support their continued success” Mr Matters said.

“At Club Narooma, we’re deeply committed to helping local sport grow and thrive. We recognise the vital role sport plays in bringing communities together, as well as the dedication, time and passion required from volunteers, players and supporters to keep it strong. This partnership is about backing that commitment and investing in the future of our local community.”

The announcement follows the recent commitment from ActewAGL as the naming partners for the junior and women’s competitions and ensures each competition for the 2026 season is partnered.
