Applications are now open for the second round of the AFL’s New South Wales Facilities Fund in 2026, providing community AFL clubs with the means to enhance their facilities and grounds.
Over $650K was awarded to 14 clubs, schools and councils during the first round of the Facilities Fund earlier this year.
Applications for the second round of the Facilities Fund opened today, offering clubs, schools and organisations across the state access to funding that will help deliver important upgrades and improvements to their local facilities.
Head of AFL NSW/ACT Andrew Varasdi said: “Investing in community facilities remains a key priority for the AFL, and we’re pleased to open the second round of the AFL’s New South Wales Facilities Fund for 2026.
“The strong response to the first round demonstrated the significant demand for funding that helps local clubs, schools and community organisations improve the places where our game is played and enjoyed.
“Quality, accessible and inclusive facilities are essential to creating positive experiences for participants, volunteers and communities.
“Through the Facilities Fund, we’re continuing to support projects that strengthen local infrastructure, increase participation opportunities and help meet the needs of our growing game across New South Wales.
“We encourage eligible organisations to apply and take advantage of this opportunity to deliver meaningful improvements that will benefit their communities for years to come.”
The AFL’s New South Wales Facilities Fund endeavours to provide communities with the means to enhance their facilities and grounds, ensuring the continued growth and inclusivity of Australian Rules Football at the grassroots level.
The Facilities Fund has ushered in significant infrastructure upgrades across the state, including gender neutral changeroom improvements, lighting projects, ground surface enhancements and new ovals.
