GIANTS hit the road for Community Camp Across Canberra, South Coast, Albury and Wagga
Just over one week out from the AFL’s Opening Round, the GIANTS will spread out across four regions – Canberra, the South Coast, Albury and Wagga – for a two-day Community Camp on Wednesday, 26 February and Thursday, 27 February.
From school and club visits to hosting NAB AFL Auskick clinics, the camp will see more than 5,000 local fans and aspiring young players have the chance to meet GIANTS players in person, while coaches will benefit from exclusive development sessions designed to enhance leadership and on-field strategy.
AFL Manager of ACT & Southern NSW, Steven Mahar, emphasised the importance of these camps.
"The GIANTS' visit to regional communities like Canberra, Albury, the South Coast, and Wagga is more than just a chance to meet the players – it's an invaluable opportunity for kids to connect with role models who inspire them both on and off the field,’’ he said.
‘’For many in these communities, this is a rare and special moment, showing the importance of staying engaged with the game. The GIANTS’ support goes beyond the game itself, encouraging the next generation to chase their dreams and stay active, knowing that their heroes are right there beside them."
