NAB AFL Superkick Centre of The Future

Why is this research being conducted?

The research project aims to evaluate the updated program design and implementation of the updated NAB AFL Superkick and to provide evidence-based feedback to the AFL on the strengths and weaknesses of the new program. The AFL will use this information to identify areas for improvement and further development of its participation offerings.

What information is being collected?

Individual feedback from Facilitator/Coach, Parent/Guardian and Participant groups.  Our evaluation partner (La Trobe University) will ask all Parties to share their thoughts about the NAB AFL Superkick sessions they’ve attended.

Participants will have the opportunity to talk about what they enjoyed, what they didn’t like, and whether they feel they’re getting better at football and improving their skills.

Can I opt out/How your family can participate?

Parents/Guardians/Participants do not have to participate if they don’t want to.  Choosing not to opt in will not affect your program experience at your centre.  Although we would love your support and feedback on the updated program.

By opting in to the project, participants will be involved in:
•    Short surveys pre, during and post program
•    Coaches/participants will undergo observational coding (video recording) and analysis
•    Semi-structured interviews of small focus groups of coaches, parents, and participants, lasting approximately 45 minutes.

Who can I contact if I have any questions?

Your first contact should be the local AFL Staff members attending the sessions. If you’re unable to contact them, please contact our Customer Service Team directly at superkick@afl.com.au or 1800 PLAYAFL.
