At the senior level, both our Men’s and Women’s competitions showcase the very best of local talent, commitment, and sportsmanship.
A major feature of this year’s schedule is the inclusion of evening matches, made possible by the recent installation of field lighting at three local clubs.
This important facility upgrade allows games to extend through to Saturday evening, offering greater flexibility and fluidity within the draw and enhancing the overall match-day experience.
It also improves access to facilities for training and development, supporting the continued growth of participation across all age groups.
New lights represent a significant step forward for our local game and reflects the continued investment being made in community AFL.

In 2026, Maryborough Bears AFC have entered additional grades, reflecting the club’s continued growth and strong community support.
This expansion is a credit to the dedication of its volunteers and committee, whose hard work has created more opportunities for players and families.
With a connected, family-orientated culture at its core, Maryborough Bears continues to build a welcoming environment that is driving its steady rise within the competition.
The addition of these teams not only strengthens the club but also benefits the wider competition by increasing participation numbers, enhancing depth across divisions, and contributing to a more vibrant and sustainable season for all involved.

Beyond the competition itself, the new season represents the strength of our local sporting community.
Every match played is supported by volunteers, coaches, umpires, administrators, sponsors, and families who give their time and energy to ensure the season runs smoothly.
Their commitment creates opportunities for young players to learn valuable life skills, for seniors to compete at a high level, and for the broader community to stay active and connected.
