Signings have begun to drop across the TPIL Lawyers QAFL and Bond University QAFLW competitions as sides get active in their list building ahead of the 2026 season.

Aspley have added some depth to their stocks, announcing the signing of Zakodi Loats from The Gladstone Suns and BITS Saints in the Capricornia league. Zakodi joins the Hornets after taking out consecutive Best and Fairests awards, Team of the Year honours and representing the All-Stars Academy.

They also welcome Steph Griffiths from Glenorchy and a product of the Tasmanian Devils Academy. Griffiths has already collected multiple Best and Fairest awards across Tasmania and AFL Mackay.

Addison Venten also joins Aspley in 2026, having impressed the Coates Talent League, AFL Wide Bay, and the Brisbane Lions Academy.

More future Hornets are Summer Carriage, a current Brisbane Lions Academy member and Nicky Lowe, originating from Hamilton Football Club in Victoria's Western Football League, Cyndra Williams from Penguin Football Club in Tasmania, and Milly Leigh, a Heather Green Medalist (Darling Downs Best and Fairest) and 2025 Premiership winner with the Toowoomba Tigers.

In the TPIL Lawyers, Coorparoo welcome 18-year-old Noah Polinkski, already a senior premiership player, being the youngest ever Sandgate senior premiership player at just 16. This year, Noah represented the Brisbane Lions Level 3 Academy program and was St Patrick's College AFL Player of the Year.

The Roos welcome Andrew Hutchinson, who has played in both Cairns and South Barwon in Geelong. Hutchinson was a 2023 Geelong Football League senior grand finalist.

Other new recruits for Maroochydore are Ryan Haberecht, previously playing in the Ovens and Murray league and Zac Tanner from country Victoria.

Sam McLachlan also returns to the club after playing for the North Warrnambool Eagles this past year.

Morningside have gained some stars in Liam Dawson, one of the most decorated players in the TPIL Lawyers QAFL, having played for the Brisbane Lions, a two-time premiership player for Aspley and two-time Joe Grant Medallist.

Another Hornet that has made the move to Morningside is Jake Howson, who this year won the Aspley Players' MVP award and now joins his brother Mitch Howson in the red, white and black next season.

The Vultures welcome back to the club, former Mt Gravatt junior, Jake Torney, who more recently has gone down south to chase VFL opportunities.

Mt Gravatt also sign Sterling Mitchell for the 2026 season who has played for the Darwin Buffaloes and Sherwood Magpies in the QAFL. He has most recently played for Yeronga-South Brisbane in 2024 and 2025, winning the club's Best and Fairest award in 2024.

Up the Bruce Highway, Noosa has been busy recruiting. Former Broadbeach Cats player Lucas Jellyman-Turner joins the Tigers in the 2026 season.

Also from Broadbeach, and prior to that the Hinterland Blues, Max Marsh also joins the Tigers in 2026.

More recruits for the Tigers include Cohen Frith, Gold Coast SUNS Academy player, and brothers Billy and Kalen Shanks from Millicent.

Palm Beach Currumbin have added to their list as well, recruiting Ben Holian, fresh off a premierhsip in the Essendon District Football League with Strathmore, and Ben Reddick from the Northern Football Netball league having played for Northcote Park.

With preseason training soon to begin for a number of clubs, we anticipate more signings to be announced in the coming weeks, as the TPIL Lawyers QAFL and Bond University QAFLW prepare for another blockbuster year.
