As new signings are popping up across our clubs, several fresh faces will also officially take the helm with a number of new head coaches announced for the 2026 season.
Aspley have a new head coach, with Marc Seen being appointed to the TPIL Lawyers QAFL role.
Seen has been part of the Aspley Football Club since 2019 starting as the NEAFL and VFL forward line coach before taking the roles across the backline and midfield as the Hornets transitioned into the QAFL. He was also an assistant coach in the Queensland Men’s State team in 2024. With coaching experience dating back to 2008, Seen brings passion, leadership, and a deep understanding of the game to the Hornets’ senior program.
Broadbeach welcome Darren Pfeiffer into the role of TPIL Lawyers QAFL Senior Coach for 2026 as well.
Once playing for Adelaide, Carlton and port Adelaide in the AFL, Pfeiffer brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the Broadbeach Football Club. As a coach, he has also achieved many outstanding accolades including being a two-time AFL Sydney Premiership Coach, 2022 AFL Sydney Coach of the Year, and most recently ahs been Senior Assistant Coach at North Adelaide in the SANFL.
In their inaugural year in the Bond University QAFLW, Broadbeach have announced that Geoff Hill will be the Cats’ QAFLW Senior Coach.
Hill led the QFAW Division 1 side to a premiership in 2025 and has been an integral part to Broadbeach’s women’s program over the last four years. He is known for his strong relationships with players and staff, and brings years of coaching experience to the side.
Maroochydore have appointed Steve Moody as their Head Coach to take their side to the QAFLW, with Moody having been a Roos player himself as well as previously coaching the side. He has also been a state coach, Senior Men’s coach, and most recently part of the Brisbane Lions Academy, developing the next generation of talent.
Moreton Bay have announced their 2026 QAFLW co-coaches as Todd Spackman and Jess Davy.
With an MBA and extensive experience as a professional people leader, Spackman brings strategic thinking communication excellence, and a deep understanding of team dynamics. He has worked with the club for several years coaching the U13 boys to the 2024 Division 2 Premiership, senior assistant coaching the QFAW and guiding the QAFLW Development team through the 2025 season.
Davy has been a stand-out player and role model in Queensland football for over a decade. She is a six-time Club Best and Fairest, two-time Queensland representative, and 2025 QAFLW Team of the Year Captain. She recently acquired her Level 2 Coaching Accreditation to transition into a high-impact coach.
Mt Gravatt will welcome Cameron James into the role as Head Coach. Listed with Carlton in the early 1990s, he moved to Mt Gravatt AFC 30 years ago playing almost 100 senior games for the club, winning the Jim Fletcher Medal in 1998 and a Premiership in 2002.
James went on to coach numerous youth Vulture teams before stepping into the senior coach role at Beenleigh in 2017, and in 2024 coached the Reserves at Sherwood before moving back to the Vultures to assist the younger group. He also took over as caretaker coach for the Vultures mid 2025 and appointed for 2026 permanently.
Noosa have announced the appointment of Darren Winter to lead the QAFL side in 2026. Winter brings a wealth of experience and a legacy of success to the club, having earned his place in the Tasmanian Football Hall of Fame and demonstrated his coaching prowess through multiple premierships.
Redland-Victoria Point had the task of replacing the outgoing Phil Carse, announcing the appointment of Brad Moore as Head Coach.
Moore has experience as Labrador’s Head Coach (NEAFL 2011-2013), Gold Coast SUNS Academy U18’s Development Coach (2014-2016), Surfers Paradise’s Head Coach (QAFL 2016-2022) including the 2019 QAFL Premiership, and Queensland’s State Team - Coach and High Performance Manager (QAFL 2023-2025).
Southport will be led by Corey Gillie, replacing the outgoing Matthew Lappin as their QAFLW Senior Head Coach for 2026 season.
Gillie has been the Senior Assistant coach at Southport under Matthew Lappin and Peter Doherty over the past three years, being a critical part of their back-to-back premierships in 2024 and 2025.
